Beware of Black Mold

Toxic black mold is a specific type of mold that is spread through spores and can be harmful to humans. Black mold usually appears slimy and is dark green, black, or gray color.

It grows in warm or moist areas, such as within carpet, dry wall, or wood paneling. Black mold has a distinctive, musty odor that can sometimes be notied even if the physical appearance is hidden from the naked eye.

Black mold exposure can have very dangerous physical effects on people. Below are some of these physical symptoms (*Note we are NOT medical professionals):

  • Respiratory problems (such as coughing, sneezing, or difficulty breathing)
  • Fatigue and drowsiness
  • Headaches
  • Eye inflmmation or bloodshot eyes
  • Nose bleeds

While mold is common in homes, if you notice signs of black mold, action should be taken immediately to safely and properly remove the mold.
